Not even a rocket scientist and the immediate thought "1,000 of those particular rocket boosters are pitifully too little energy for any meaningful effect on CEP" occured before finishing the paragraphs re: aim & fire to cancel earth's rotation.

I internalized the concept that "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from a really big gun" LONG ago.
