I learned some things from your essay today and got a nuanced point of view on some things that I haven’t heard discussed, or considered in this way before……with humor included!!
The extreme cynic in me thinks that the only reason our military and intelligence bureaucracy would allow nuclear disarmament is because they want a forever conventional war to feed on. Direct war with China or Russia becomes more possible in their insane brains if nukes are off the table.

It will collapse our economy and surely cause a pandemic of athletes foot that will destroy humanity. Plus it’s a threat to Our Democracy (tm).”
You will never find anyone with the talent and ability who would want to do it and if you did it would take a minimum of ten years, long after the orange turd will be dead and gone. And then someone, maybe me, would blow it up.
Any God biz believing man/woman (idiots) giving up their nuclear arsenal is unthinkable, as all violence, cruelty, ruthlessness, and savagery begins with - medieval Middle Eastern desert tribal nomadic, ultra-illiterate, ultra-primitive, ultra-filthy (in ancient times there was no water for those desert dwellers to clean themselves up) barbaric Christianity and with their sidekick, Jews cult savages. These God biz are mythical, concocted, ugly, dirty, obscene without any history, no historian has mentioned such nor has any archeological findings either. Hence, due to these nations who are holding weaponry, they think they are insecure, and these lethal weapons are their brutal God biz given rights (just like forcibly occupying others land or nations as their pariah God biz given right) - of course, they hold on to these lethal weapons for their life. This shows that without removing this barbaric Christianity from the equation, bringing humankind to civilization and the reality - noway of giving up their nuclear arsenal whatever the circumstances are. In fact, underlining cause, namely the obscene God biz should remove first to achieve any tangible results.
This would be a great achievement, but maybe nobel PP instead of that abomination in SD. The more likely scenario is bird flu goes pandemic and everything is done wrong and nothing gets done (besides deporting some browns).
Also, Gabbard? That fantasy went on life support in 2020 and expired shortly thereafter. I'd be ok with being wrong about this tho.
The similarities of Reagan and Trump are not “yuge” but they are there. For one they were both staunch democrats who saw a nation needing a leader. I know Reagan had unsuccessfully tried to get the nomination before but thank god he was undeterred. If Trump believes he can get the nations together and disarm that would be enough to get on Rushmore in my book. It wouldn’t be world peace per se but it would make any war to be fought with newer tech which is pilotless fighter jets,drones,& hypersonic missles which I imagine do enough damage on their own. If he can get to the bottom of Covid could get him his nose. A world without the threat of nuclear war is a deal I can get behind. If we can reuse them for power generation even better.
I pay no attention to anything Mr. Trump has to say. He's a random blather generator. It works very well at keeping media attention heavily focused on him. I'm not going to play his game.
If Trump can move the world toward major reductions in nuclear arms, I'm ready to give him a Nobel Peace Prize. But Mount Rushmore? No.
